Tony Noonan – Managing Director

Tony came to England from Ireland in 1966, after being transferred to the London Office of Norwich Union Insurance.

In 1968 he joined J & H Transport at their depot in Deptford, London. The company had a fleet in order of some 400 motors and Tony was employed to handle all the vehicle insurance claims.

In 1969 Tony was transferred to the Trafford Park, Manchester depot of J & H Transport where he was employed as General Manager.

In 1974 Tony went into partnership with an elderly colleague and in 1978 Tony bought out his partner and in common with 3 other directors commenced trading as Willowbridge Transport.

Chris Butler, MIRITE – Works Director

Chris served a recognised apprenticeship with Bolton Metropolitan Borough Council in the 1970’s attaining many City and Guilds Qualifications, culminating in a Full Technological Certificate. Chris spent 3 years post qualification working at Kirkby Central, a Vauxhall Bedford Dealership in Bolton. From there Chris took up a post with District Parcel Carriers as Workshop Supervisor in 1983.

Chris joined North West Logistics Limited in 1990 as our Fleet Engineer. In 1996 when the company was taken over by City Trucks Chris was transferred to City’s Warrington Depot where he acted as Workshop Manager, responsible for a fleet in excess of 200 vehicles.

In March 2002 when North West Logistics was formed Chris rejoined the company in the role of General Manager. Chris is now responsible for the overall fleet management, the day to day running of the warehouse and all aspects of Health and Safety and ADR Compliance. Chris is the DGSA for the company and is also the ISO Manager.

Janet Tracey – Company Secretary

Janet commenced employment with the company in 1998.

Janet is responsible for all financial aspects of the company including the preparation of Weekly Management Accounts and the preparation of monthly Profit and Loss Accounts together with detailed Balance Sheets.


In April 2006 a new computer package (Mandata) will be up and running and through this system the whole operation from Traffic Planning, through to Invoicing and Accounting will be streamlined through one piece of Software. At the same time the Mandata System will also be introduced into the Warehouse.

Vic Floyd, MinstLM - Transport Director

Vic was originally employed by the company as an HGV driver in February 1992. Vic gained a vast knowledge of our customer base and their specific requirements during his time as a driver, this meant that when an opportunity arose in the office for a Transport Planner in 1995 Vic was the obvious choice for promotion. Since 1995 Vic has been a committed member of the Transport Office Team and gained his certificate from the Institute of Leadership & Management.

Over the years Vic gained promotion to the role of Transport Manager and in April 2005 was appointed Transport Director.

Vic is a National CPC holder and both his HGV Class 1 Licence and his ADR Licence are still valid.

Stephen Hughes – Transport Manager

Stephen joined the company in April 1997 as an HGV Class 1 Driver.

In 2001 Steve was brought into the office as Assistant Transport Manager and has since been promoted to Transport Manager.

Stephen holds a valid Class1 HGV Licence and also a valid ADR Licence. Stephen has also gained his National CPC.

In addition to Transport Planning Stephen is also responsible for all international freight.

Phil Ridgway – Assistant Transport Manager

Phil started working for North West Logistics in January 1999 as an LGV 1 driver doing multi-drop deliveries nationwide.

After 5 years driving he was offered a position in the office as a traffic clerk. Once gaining his C.P.C, Phil was given the job of assistant transport manager in the traffic office.

In October 2006 Phil was given the joint responsibility along with Mike of developing the Export Department to what it is today.

Phil still holds a valid C+E licence, his ADR licence and is a designated first aider in the work place.

Mike Cooke - Export Manager

Mike joined North West Logistics in October 2005 after transferring from H.B.Fullers when NWL acquired the distribution contract.

Mike brings with him 20 years logistics experience including running the export and UK haulage for H.B.Fullers. Mike still holds a valid C+E licence and ADR licence.

Jennifer Kay – Export & Warehouse Admin. Manager

Jennifer joined the company in January 2000.

Her main responsibilities are Stock Control for all customer product stored in the Birch Warehouse. Full descriptions of the Warehousing Procedures as carried out by Jennifer are attached further on in this document.

Jennifer is fluent in French, which is extremely useful as many of our customers products are shipped to and from Western Europe. She also deals with all relevant shipping documents, Trem Cards and Dangerous Goods Notes.

Jennifer works with various customers and Freight Forwarding Agents regarding export consignments. She also deals with the disposal of quarantine stock on behalf of our storage customers, in accordance with current environmental disposal regulations.

Jean Hunt – POD Clerk

Jean joined the company in October 2004.

Jean’s main role is the checking and scanning of Proof of Delivery Notes (POD’s) and liaising with the Traffic Office and Drivers.

Jean deals with customer requests for copy POD’s and the e-mailing/faxing of all relevant paperwork. Once the original POD’s have been scanned Jean matches them up with the original invoices to ensure that each job has been charged correctly and then mails the invoice and POD out to the customer.

Sally Twist – Admin. Clerk

Sally joined the company in 1990.

Her main duties are invoice production and credit control.

Sally also is responsible for the weekly payroll.
