The company was established under the name of - Noonan Warehousing and Freight Ltd. in Bury, Lancashire by Mr Anthony Noonan in 1978, primarily to service the chemical industry in and around the Manchester area.

During the period between 1978 and 1996 the business became well known within the chemical sector and was chosen as the prime carrier for a host of well known blue chip chemical manufacturers, not only within the Manchester area but throughout the UK and Ireland.

In December 1996 the business of NWFS was sold to the Newport Pagnell based City Truck Group of Companies. The core business of NWFS continued as an autonomous part of the City Truck Group of Companies, trading under the name of City Freight. As a part of this sale all former employees of NWFS were transferred to the City Truck Group of Companies under TUPE regulations.

In January 2002 administrators were called in to the City Truck Group of Companies and in March 2002 the company was wound up.

During this time Tony Noonan entered into negotiations with the administrators of the City Truck Group of Companies (Ernst & Young) and it was agreed that he could buy back the City Freight part of the business.

On 2nd April 2002 North West Logistics limited commenced trading, having retained many of the former employees of Noonan Warehousing and Freight Services Limited.

North West Logistics Limited has enjoyed steady growth year on year and a copy of the Company’s audited Balance Sheet as at 30th September 2006 and Audited accounts for the Year to 30th September 2006 can be obtained from our accounts department if requested in writing.

Today North West Logistics Limited is a specialist multi-user operation, with specialist operations in the industrial and chemicals sector, offering Transport (Bulk and palletised) and Warehousing facilities.
